GASTRONOMY OF MOLFETTA

The gastronomy of Molfetta, a seaside and peasant town, has poor roots, based on few but fundamental ingredients. In this regard, we recall the handmade pasta, legumes, vegetables, fruit, fish. But the real protagonist of Molfetta’s cuisine is extra virgin olive oil , in fact Apulia with its over 50 million olive trees, is the first for production of olives and oil. Typical dish of Molfetta’s kitchen are the tops of turnips which are accompanied with the famous “ orecchiette “ of Apulia (or strascinati, mixture of fresh pasta, that with skill and dexterity, is worked to form a small ear) and seasoned with the exceptional extra virgin olive oil .

Snce the 19th century, the tradition of the family continues. Generation after generation, this family is dedicated with love and passion to the cultivation of the land and the production of a high quality extra virgin oil.
